I know I said I make my cosplay by myself but I must admit I have two little helpers at home!
One is less than 3 kilos but has a diva personnality: It’s Gaia, my white persian cat. She likes and hates things with passion and she thinks the world has to know it! She loves to jump on the fabric if she thinks it’s not good enough. She sleeps and rolls on the fabrics she likes…and makes grumpy faces (well more than her normal grumpy face) when you dare to move her or yell at her because she left some of her white hair on it. Of couse, who would dare to yell at Miss Diva I-own-this-house-so-pet-me-NOW?She also loves to jump on my big petticoats…but her favorite thing is to hide under the petticoat and jump on it when anybody dares to touch the fabric on top of the petticoat. She loves those surprises attacks a lot. Let’s not forget the beads and sequins she loves to steal to play on the ground…
How do I do to have peace when I sew?
I just have to put my hair cat brush to make her yell and run away like mad.
Gives me hours of peace!
Telling her “Bath time!” works perfectly too.
Gaia playing the innocent. Diva, me? Noooooo It’s just my human not admiting her place is under me.
My second helper is Vanille, my dog. She’s a mix of Malinese sheperd and Labrador.
I adopted her some years ago because I needed a guardian dog against the robbery. My flat had been already visited several times…
The robbers tried to come back once but Vanille was eager to greet them. No news of them since…
She is a perfect guardian but also a lovely dog: clever, patient and cuddly.
She is still afraid of sudden noises but she went such a long way since I got her that it’s not a problem.
I adopted her at a local shelter: she had been abandonned with one of her puppies some months before. Her ex owner sold the puppies then abandonned her.
I quickly discovered she had been badly beaten and mistreatened by her ex owner. It took me months, if not a complete year to build back her self confidence and her trust in human again.
People often prefer to buy pure breds dogs but from my experience, there is nothing bad with dogs from shelter. Of course, they have a past you have to deal with and that may ask you some efforts and patience. But all those efforts will be paid back because they give you back 500% of your efforts.
Vanille is a sweetheart: she obeys, is perfectly clean, is nice with dogs and cats and never does bad things. I never have bad surprises when I come back after a day of work.
She is my wig tester: when I make wigs and make up tests, I can always tell from her reaction if it’s bad or no. She runs under the table if I mess up lol
Gaia and Vanille are my cosplay helpers, always eager to make me laugh!
