Hello 2015!
2015 has come with its endless litanies of half aborted resolutions which will soon end in bins. Hoping to break this tradition, let’s try to find some semi reliable ideas.
1. The anger I will resist.
NO COMMENT, ok?
2.Sport I will do again.
Major back and knees problems kept me away from sports for years. Run, Cory, run!
3. My drawing pens I will use again.
It’s been 3 years I had to stop drawing thanks to hand/elbow/shoulder nerves problem. The daily copybook corrections, associated with my passion for drawing caused big nerves problems. It was either stopping drawing or being operated with less than stellar results in sight. The decision was painful but necessary. I hope to start drawing again using my pen tablet (hurts less than using real pens). I must admit I’m both eager and afraid of the result. It feels like opening a door which has been closed for years.
What? No resolution about procrastination? We said semi reliable decisions, guys!
It’s also time to think about my next cosplay projects. This year, my main goal will be to improve my sewing technics and to be more precise on props making.
I didn’t have any “instant crush” cosplay this year but two images looked promising.
Let’s start with this wonderful Clalaclan figure, from the game “Shining wind”. Dress, armor, and petticoat, this cosplay has all the elements I cherish. It looks very elegant, detailed and refined, no need to ask more!
The second project which caught my attention is Cia, from the Hyrule Warriors video game. Cia is a sorceress fallen in darkness because her love was condamned to be forever one -sided. This cruel story reminds me of Madame Red from the manga Black Butle, who also torn because her passion destroyed her.
I’ve always loved those fascinating bad characters torn by their darkness. I have chosen the “guardians of times versions” for several reasons: it shows less cleavage and skin and remains a very elegant and very detailed costume. I like sewing such complex costumes! I’m sure it will improve my sewing and embroidery technics!

The first one is Mephisto from Blue exorcist manga. I like this character because it’s mysterious, funny and manipulative. I have all the elements to build this cosplay but I prefer to wait a bit before beginning this project.The second one is related to an online video game but it’s still out of my league. I prefer improving my skills than being deceived by the result.
2015 will be full of promises!
